Q: What are pilots?
A: When we are unsure about the distant road map of a new or alternate product, it gets released as a pilot. Pilots only get promoted to official releases if the demand and feedback justify it. Customer expectations and our risk exposure are both capped this way, should the pilot fail. Pilot inventory is extremely limited, and its replenishment has the lowest priority.
Q: What do the scent blend names mean?
A: Detailed descriptions of the scent blends can be found in the ingredient index, as well as every ingredient we currently use.
Q: What happened to the Amazon Storefront?
A: We have left Amazon, and will never return. The fees and frustrations were not even close to worth it. The Etsy Storefront has been reopened as a result. From now on, all AVSC products will be sold directly.
Q: What happened to "X" scent?
A: We are liquidating our legacy blends and permafrost to greatly tighten our supply chain and improve feasibility. They will be made until our raw materials run out. As of right now our official staples are Sandalwood, Fir Needle, Cedarwood, Lemongrass, Lavender, and Unscented. Simplifying our staples has also allowed us to begin expanding our product range.
Q: Are there any military or first responder discounts?
A: There is no current system for military or first responder discounts. A work around is to sign up for AVSC rewards, and then reach out to us about your service. We will then go to your rewards account and manually add some reward points. Thank you for your service.
Q: Is there no "X" variant of "X" product?
A: Not every product will get every staple scent. Staples like lavender aren't popular as shaving cream, yet do pretty well as aftershave due to its secondary cologne function. We try to maximize efficiency and minimize risks by making what makes sense. You can reach out and make a request for a variant that doesn't exist, and we will take note of it. Historically, variants that repeatedly get requested usually get made at least as a pilot. If it proves popular, we move it to staple status.
